Waltham Forest LBC has appointed Verdant Group plc as its preferred bidder for a six-year, integrated waste and recycling contract, valued at £6m, which is due to start in April. Council leader, Clyde Loakes, said: ‘We will be saving residents around £600,000 a year. Basically, by combining our recycling and refuse service, we have created efficiencies, in terms of management, staff and transport.'
