What started out as a modest experiment in Leyton may soon be followed in other parts of Waltham Forest LBC. The junior street warden scheme, launched last August, has proved a huge success with local residents, and become a key feature of the area's Skeltons/Brook Farm regeneration project. Designed to encourage nine to 15-year-olds to play an active role in community issues and help draw up plans to improve the local environment, it will now be extended to other parts of the borough.
