I welcome the fact that Ministers have recognised reality & ditched their campaign to 'encourage' local authorities to revert to weekly bin collections.In Bedfordshire we went through the pain barrier of implementing alternate weekly bin collections & introduced a kitchen waste collection.Our recycling rates shot up & the overall cost of the service significantly reduced. There are virtually no complaints about the service & we would be truly bonkers to revert to a more costly, less efficient service that is not needed.
