Weightmans welcomes new appointments

Vincent King, Lisa Tye and Kathryn Jump join legal firm - which has won bid to provide services to the Local Government Ombudsman.

National law firm Weightmans' public sector business has won the contract to provide legal services to the Local Government Ombudsman (LGO).

The appointment comes as Weightmans welcomes a new partner, Vincent King, an experienced commercial lawyer who joins from Cobbetts/DWF and specialises in advising the local government and education sectors on outsourcing and other commercial matters.

He joins Lisa Tye and Kathryn Jump, associate and solicitor respectively, who joined the firm after the Semple Fraser acquisition and who have a deep expertise in local government planning issues.

The firm has been appointed to provide legal services to the LGO after a competitive tender process.  It will be providing advice and assistance on three specific practice areas: civil litigation, employment and general advice.
