Housing benefit reform could cause ‘transient camps', according to leader of St Helens MBC, Cllr Marie Rimmer.
Cllr Rimmer submitted a motion to the council calling on the Government to reject ‘any attempt to force people out of their family homes', as a result of the under-occupation penalty in the Welfare Reform bill.
