Welfare: The playing field is anything but level

The Welfare Reform Green Paper was driven by a wish to save money rather than to support disabled people into decent jobs, argues Ian Greaves.

It is a novel experience, as a disability rights campaigner, to find myself endorsing that louche bastion of libertarian, small state conservatism, The Spectator.

Yet work and pensions secretary Liz Kendall – and Labour councillors and MPs – would do well to glance at the magazine's coverage of the Government's Welfare Reform Green Paper, which was published earlier in the spring.
