The Welsh Government confirms it will provide an additional £22m funding to allow eligible claimants to receive council tax benefit support.

The Welsh Government has confirmed it will provide an additional £22m funding to make sure all eligible claimants receive their full entitlement to council tax benefit support from local authorities.

Around two-thirds of existing CTB claimants in Wales will not pay any council tax this year, but arrangement for providing support in Wales beyond 2013/14 will be reviewed by Welsh ministers this year. Lesley Griffiths, minister for local government said: 'In collaboration with local government we have introduced schemes to provide vital financial assistance to approximately 330,000 households in Wales.'
