West Lancashire DC has announced it will not leave the North West Regional Assembly, but it could still quit the organisation next year. Councillors voted in favour last week of staying in the assembly for the next 12 months, and paying its subscription to the organisation for 2006/7. Members also voted to give the assembly the required 12 months' notice that it would withdaw from 31 March, 2007, so it can review its membership in a year's time.
