If you ask me, I would evict everyone from council houses, not just the rioters, and sell the lot off pretty damn quick. And I'd cut back the welfare state – that's what encourages this type of behaviour, you know. If these people had to go out and work for a living, they would all be too pre-occupied with their jobs to devote time for all this looting and rioting, I can tell you. By the time Giles gets in from work he barely has time for a nice gin and tonic before dinner, never mind rampaging through the streets. He often doesn't even get home at all until the small hours of the morning, the poor angel. It's been the culture of dependency and the nanny state which has brought us to where we are now, I tell you. Make them all stand on their own two feet, and then they'll think twice about damaging other people's property. It's just plain laziness. Yes alright, Tarquin, you can shout at the chavs out of the window, but just make sure you don't do it when we're stuck at the traffic lights when they're red, there's a good boy.
