on clapped out politicians I dunno why governments love wheeling out their old political mates. I mean, that Clarke bloke, the one with the Hush Puppies and the Hamlet cigars, must be in his eighties and he's still in the government. Cameron was still at posh school when Clarke was rampaging round Whitehall upsetting the health administrators and the teachers by telling them to do some work for a change. Then, 20 years ago, he was screwing up the economy under that grey bloke, Austin, or was it Minor, no hang on it was Major... See, no-one even remembers his name now. And then what about Lord Pattern (sic) who lost his seat, got sent to Hong Kong to give it away to the Chinese and is now back running the BPC, the British Paedophile Corporation. What's he ever done to deserve that? And then there's Heseltine who may have been a big wheel 30 years ago when Thatcher still had her marbles and he was driving tanks and whatever, but what use is he now? I mean, what do you expect if you ask an 85-year-old politician to go away and do a report on the economy? Of course he's going to go to his bottom drawer, fish out a report he did back in 1982, put a new cover on it and a cartoon, just to show he's down there with the kids, and hand it to the Government and say cheers… and another thing…
