Me and a few neighbours were having a chat in the boozer over the weekend.We’ve worked out that if we can call ourselves a ‘community’ then we’ve got something called ‘a community right to build.’Apparently it’s going to be in some Bill coming out this week. So, me and the neighbours, right, we’ve formed our ‘community’ and we’ve agreed to knock down our semis and put up a ten-storey block of fl ats on the site, take themoney and head off to Malaga with the proceeds.Course we can do it ‘cos we’re an ‘empowered community’ and you can’t argue against that. And anyway if wedon’t do our bit to solve the housing crisis then there won’t be any more houses full stop.As I see it, the Government has suddenly realized that the only people who want to build houses are basically the builders ‘cos they make money out of it whereas yer average resident couldn’t give a toss since all they get in return is noise and traffic.So this ‘community right to build’ is the answer, right? Give us the right to build.It means we’ll all make a nice pile of dosh, homes get built, everyone happy… that’s what I callgood government!Loadsamoney…
