Adam Wilkinson has been appointed chief executive of Derby City Council. He joins from City of York Council where he was interim director of neighbourhoods. He replaces Ray Cowlishaw, who has been chief executive for more than 20 years. He said: ‘Mr Cowlishaw will be a hard act to follow. I am looking forward to helping Derby achieve its ambition as a city for all ages and to reach its potential as a national city.' Mr Wilkinson will take up his post in August.
