Wind assisted Southwark LBC has granted permission this week for the London Climate Change Agency to install the UK’s first photovoltaic and wind- turbine system in central London. The £436,000 renewable-energy system on the roof of the new Palestra building will generate 3,397,000kWh of renewable electricity and reduce Co2 emissions by 3,300 tonnes during its lifetime.
