A team from Wragge & Co has helped Sandwell MBC complete a £300m, 15-year corporate partnership deal with BT and Liberata. The team of public sector, IT and regeneration experts was led by partner Sarah Sasse, and worked alongside Sandwell MBC's executive directive of finance and corporate services, Lynda Bateman, and head of legal services, Neeraj Sharma. BT and Liberata will provide a range of corporate and support services to the council, including HR, procurement and finance. The two firms will also invest £45m to upgrade the council's computer systems. ‘This deal secures investment and ongoing expertise for Sandwell MBC, as well as improved services for local people,' said Mrs Sasse. ‘It is a good result and another achievement for our public sector practice. This practice brings together experts from all disciplines to provide the sector-focused commercial expertise and in-depth experience to handle large, complex projects.' Wragge & Co has also been involved in an £80m PFI project for Croydon LBC, a £50m outsourcing deal for Coventry City Council, and a Building Schools for the Future contract for Solihull MBC.
