Wrexham CBC has launched a new recycling campaign to see shoes, belts and handbags recycled alongside glass, paper and cans. At least two million pairs of good-quality, reusable shoes are thrown away each week in the UK, with more sitting unworn in wardrobes. Cllr ~Mark Pritchard~, Wrexham's lead member for waste and environment, said recycling leather items such as shoes was another way to help minimise the amount of waste being sent to landfill.
