Nottingham City Council has warned telephone companies to help it in the fight against graffiti – or face the consequences. Companies such as BT and NTL have been asked by the council to remove graffiti from phoneboxes themselves. The council is even willing to offer clean-up services to the companies involved, at a reduced cost to help them. Any firm which does not co-operate could be subject to having legal notices served on it for any graffiti or flyposting which has to be removed.
