York has been named the strongest-performing economy in the North and is in the top 10% of economically resilient towns and cities in Britain, according to a study on behalf Yorkshire Cities.

The report also identified three challenges for the future – developing an enterprise culture, ensuring conditions to sustain a strong economy are in place, and defining and marketing York's offer.
