Former mayor of Liverpool City Council, Joe Anderson, is no longer under investigation by Lancashire Constabulary – but still faces a Merseyside police inquiry.
Mr Anderson was first interviewed in 2017 as part of Operation Sheridan, an investigation into financial irregularities at Liverpool and Lancashire CC that began in 2013.
He and three others have now been told they are no longer under investigation.
