Bin lorry driver shortage at ‘crisis point’

A shortage of 100,000 heavy goods vehicle drivers has disrupted bin collections across the country.

Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic have piled further pressure on an existing shortage of lorry drivers, including those qualified to drive refuse trucks carrying out kerbside collections.
