Council faces soaring waste contract costs

Derbyshire Dales DC is braced for a hike in costs when its waste and recycling contract with Serco expires next year.

Councillors will be asked next week to approve tendering for its service collecting rubbish from 35,000 homes for eight years from March 2020, with an option to extend for a further eight.
