Councillors to discuss 'unlawful' payoff to ex-chief behind closed doors

Pembrokeshire CC councillors are expected to discuss an ‘unlawful’ decision to strike a £95,000 settlement agreement with former chief executive Ian Westley behind closed doors.

A report to an extraordinary meeting on Monday by Pembrokeshire’s deputy monitoring officer laid out why the August 2020 decision by leader David Simpson to do the deal was ‘considered unlawful’ because chief officers’ remuneration is a responsibility of full council.
