Councils battle to prevent 'lost generation'

Children’s services directors have said they face a challenge to avoid the emergence of a ‘lost generation’.

They face a surge in demand in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and continuing constraints on budgets, the National Children and Adult Services Conference heard this week.
