Councils need more funds for Brexit preparations, Brokenshire warns Treasury

Local government will need more funds to deal with the Brexit fallout, according to a leaked letter penned by communities secretary James Brokenshire.

He wrote to the Chancellor Philip Hammond to point out that the £35m allocated by the Treasury amounts to less than half the sum requested by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
