Councils’ net-zero hopes dashed

There are no plans for new powers, frameworks or funding overhauls in the Government’s net-zero strategy, ministers have admitted.

Suggested changes to the way councils communicate with Whitehall were also rejected at an evidence session of the Environmental Audit Committee yesterday.
