Councils remain in dark as refugees arrive

Councils are still awaiting full details of their role in supporting Ukrainian refugees as the first families arrive in the UK this week.

The Government guidance issued to local authorities promised further details on key issues such as safeguarding, property checks, funding, homelessness duties and service referrals ‘shortly’ or ‘in due course’.
