Scottish councils have warned of cuts to essential services and the ‘strong likelihood of industrial action in the coming months’.
The warning from the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) came after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and cabinet secretary for finance Kate Forbes refused a request from council leaders to hold talks on the current settlement for the sector.
