Davies to take on top job at National Audit Office

Gareth Davies has been put forward for appointment as comptroller and auditor general at the National Audit Office (NAO), replacing Sir Amyas Morse.

The prime minister and chair of the Public Accounts Committee have recommended Mr Davies, who is head of public services at audit and accountancy firm Mazars, with a full appointment made by the Queen.
