EXCLUSIVE: Cross-cutting regions project faces Whitehall downgrade

Concerns have been voiced over changes to a project supposed to unite Whitehall departments and regions across the country.

The Government had designated 12 senior civil servants as heads of place, tasked with joining-up different departments in their region to tackle siloed working and liaising more effectively with local partners such as councils.
