Employers delay response to 10% pay claim

Local government employers have told trade union leaders that they are unlikely to respond to their 10% pay claim before next year.

In a letter to the unions, national employers secretary, Naomi Cooke, said she could not respond ‘until the impact of the outcome of the General Election is known, which they do not expect until the new year’.
