Fears over local audit future after new regulator is confirmed

The announcement of a new regulator for public sector audits has failed to quell widespread fears for the market’s future.

The Government has announced the remit of the new Audit, Reporting and Governance Authority (ARGA), which is taking over private sector audit, will be expanded to include regulation of the public sector.
