Future Forum North: authorities should prepare for big switch-off

Councils must ensure they are prepared for the looming switch-off of copper-based landlines, the Future Forum North has heard.

BT Openreach will switch off PSTN (Public Switch Telephone Network) and ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) lines in 2025 and plans to have moved everyone to digital internet-based alternatives.
