Future Forum: Sector must take lead on diversity

Councils should ‘think outside the box’ when recruiting to senior positions, The MJ’s Future Forum has heard.

Director of executive search at recruitment consultancy Penna, Dawar Hashmi, said the local government sector still lacked diversity among its leadership roles, highlighting that the number of black chief executive officers in London stood at just four - compared to two 12 years ago.
