Health secretary blames Westminster politics for plight of social care

Health secretary Matt Hancock has conceded ‘we should have fixed social care by now’ in a speech to councils.

At the Local Government Association (LGA) conference in Brighton today, Mr Hancock said the much-delayed Social Care Green paper had been held up by a ‘Parliamentary logjam’ and lack of cross-party consensus.
