Javid backs reorganisation in speech to counties

Communities secretary Sajid Javid has given a ringing endorsement to unitary local government in a speech to the County Councils Network (CCN) conference.

Mr Javid praised reorganisation plans submitted to the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) by Buckinghamshire CC, claiming they were ‘exactly the kind of proactive, locally driven thinking I want to see’.
