Communities secretary Sajid Javid has called for an urgent update on what is happening in Birmingham, as the leader faces calls to step down.
The secretary of state has written to Birmingham Independent Improvement Panel chair, John Crabtree, suggesting there has been ‘significant developments’ which could have ‘major implications for the governance of the Council and its financial position’.
