Kent reaches asylum tipping point

Kent CC has warned it has reached its capacity to safely care for any more unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC).

The council said that from today it was unable to accept any new arrivals as an 'impossible strain' has been placed on its social care services.

It called on the Government to fairly distribute the children to other local authorities.
