Lords warn services face ‘evisceration’ without radical change

Lords have warned ministers of the ‘evisceration’ of local government unless funding is overhauled.

In a debate moved by Lib Dem Lord Scriven, the Government faced repeated calls for a radical restructuring of how councils are financed.
