MPs criticise council chiefs for ‘stonewalling’ select committee

The chief executives of two councils have been accused of showing a ‘lack of leadership’ for not attending a meeting of the Education Committee.

Director of children’s services Stuart Gallimore represented East Sussex CC and Terry Reynolds, director for education and skills, appeared on behalf of Newham LBC to discuss services for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
