Mental health top reason for staff absences

Mental health has been the top reason local government employees have taken time off work over the last 32 months.

Data compiled by absence management experts FirstCare revealed that 25% of all lost working time in local government from January 2019 to the end of last month was due to mental health-related absences - compared to 18% in the NHS.
