Metro mayors call for place-based funding

England’s nine metro mayors have urged the Government to take a place-based approach to funding in the 2020 Spending Review.

The group of mayors, dubbed the M9, met in Manchester at the Conservative Party Conference. They issued a joint statement, calling on the Government to strengthen their powers.
