Minister dismisses 'sham' university study

A minister has dismissed a university study on the UK community renewal fund as a ‘sham’.

The Centre for Inequality and Levelling Up at the University of West London found that 21% of the fund – the precursor to the UK shared prosperity fund - went to areas in the bottom 20% of the index of multiple deprivation and two-thirds of the funding went to areas in the top half of the index.
