Northern Powerhouse minister Jake Berry’s support for devolving tax-raising powers to the regional level has been welcomed by the New Local Government Network (NLGN).
The NLGN was responding to comments by Mr Berry in the Sunday Times that with ‘so much economic growth’ in the north ‘it was time for the Government to consider a department for the north of England, with its own secretary of state’.
