Haringey LBC has just signed a new joint venture to push much-needed development in the borough amid public protests and opposition from local MPs. Cllr Claire Kober tells Heather Jameson why

Gaining public support for development plans is often not easy but for Haringey LBC recent proposals have been harder than most.

Its plans for the Haringey Development Vehicle, a 50:50 joint venture with Lendlease, were approved by the council while the public protested outside – and amid pleas from the local MPs to reconsider. However, council leader Claire Kober is confident she is doing what is right for the local area.
