Serco strike action averted

Strike action by refuse workers in Sandwell has been averted after Serco withdrew planned changes to collections.

Union Unite has threatened to stage walkouts in response to plans by the outsourcer to reduce the number of refuse rounds, which the union claimed would have resulted in ‘unmanageable workloads’.
