The frenzy of policy must not lead to fragmented reforms

Last week was a momentous occasion – the very first in-person Future Forum North since the pandemic. It was a delight to see everyone in real life – but alas not The MJ’s very own Michael Burton who, having organised most of the event, flunked his COVID test and couldn’t join us.

As we hit the second anniversary of the first pandemic lockdown – when the whole agenda ground to a halt as we fought off a crisis – what came across loud and clear was the massive to-do list for councils.
