Watchdog issues notice to council over gas safety checks

Newark and Sherwood DC has been issued with a regulatory notice by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) after failing to complete hundreds of gas safety checks.

Angela Holden, assistant director of consumer regulation at the RSH, said: ‘We welcome Newark and Sherwood DC’s self-referral, which recognises that its failure to meet health and safety requirements has put tenants at potential risk.
