Whitehall challenged over ‘unlawful’ pensions scheme

A judicial review could be launched against Whitehall plans to encourage Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) funds to invest more in infrastructure.

The Government wants LGPS funds to pool their £180bn of assets into a small number of British wealth funds, each over £25bn in size, to drive investment in infrastructure and local growth.
