The disability charity, Scope, has criticised Bromley LBC over plans to remove clothing recycling bins from public sites under plans to use a private operator.
Scope has collected more than 1,000 signatures from local residents against the proposals to scrap 34 recycling banks and to allow the firm Veolia, which already provides waste-disposal services across the local authority, run a new clothes collection service instead. The charity estimates it could lose £360,000 in annual revenue if it loses the clothing banks.
