WORKFORCE

Assistant Director Adult Safeguarding, Social Care and Health

We are looking for leaders who aren't afraid of change, and can help us develop our vision for how adult social care should be delivered. Our approach is bold – we are looking at options for truly innovative joint working across local government and health with a neighbouring council and health partners.

For the right candidate, this is a brilliant opportunity to take your career to the next level – and change the lives of people across the borough.

You will provide the inspirational leadership we need in order to change our practice and define future models of delivery.

We are open minded about what those models are. In fact, this is your chance to influence and shape an agenda which is at the very top of the council's priority list.

You will want to seize the opportunities created by recent changes in the landscape of health and social care. Your passion and drive will establish structures for the delivery of services that are in the best interests of vulnerable adults. And your head for strategy will make best possible use of the available resources provided by the council and its partners.

You will be responsible for:

– all strategies, procedures and activities relating to adults' safeguarding and social care
– leading commissioning of services in adult social care, older people's services, mental health services, supporting people and joint working with the NHS
– prevention activities
– drugs and alcohol misuse services

If this sounds like the sort of life-changing agenda you'd be excited to lead, we want to hear from you.
