Assistant Director Adult Social Care Provider Management and Market Development - Wigan Council

Assistant Director Adult Social Care Provider Management and Market Development c.£80,000

Wigan is a confident, vibrant borough looking to its future. With a location between, and close to, the major cities of Manchester and Liverpool, Wigan offers a competitive advantage for businesses and unrivalled access to many outstanding facilities. Whether it is in business, sport or in other fields, Wigan has a winning culture and welcomes those with the same attitude and determination to help shape the future.

We are underway with a significant modernisation programme for adult social care. The remodelling of our current in-house provider services, and the further development of community options to provide personalised support for social care service users, are two main features of our strategy.

This role brings together the management of adult social care in-house provider services, and our market development of externally commissioned services. The role will further develop existing Quality Assurance and Improvement systems to ensure improved outcomes for service users is what we achieve, whether services are provided by ourselves or others.

You are the person we are looking for if you have strong credentials showing your commitment to the delivery of improved quality of care. You will be strengthening our quality and monitoring systems and driving performance to ensure we effectively manage risk and improve outcomes from both internally provided and externally commissioned services.

If you have the drive, skills, knowledge and commercial acumen to deliver on our objectives whilst building the business around the Council's values, we would like to hear from you.

We offer a competitive salary and generous benefits package.

If you would like an informal discussion about this job, please contact Stuart Cowley – Director for Adult Social Care and Health on 01942 489455.
